Data Analyst - customer trends (Pittsburgh, PA)

Nova Sparrow Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Pittsburgh. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on customer trends. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Investigate trends in customer tracking and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Pittsburgh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
