Data Analyst - customer trends (Oakland, CA)

Nova Amber Insurance Group is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on customer trends for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 129 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in catastrophe response and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on claims. • Python or R for analysis.
