Data Analyst - customer trends (Houston, TX)

Summit Meadow Markets is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on customer trends for shrink and waste, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in shrink and waste and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on store inventory. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Houston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
