Data Analyst - customer trends (Grand Rapids, MI)

Harborlight Fern Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Grand Rapids. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on customer trends. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Investigate trends in carrier rates and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on dock schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Grand Rapids, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
