Data Analyst - customer trends (Des Moines, IA)

Ironwood Granite Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Des Moines, and we need a Data Analyst to lead our customer trends. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in underwriting files and explain what is driving them. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on customer complaints. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
