Content Writer - website copy (remote)

Westbrook Drift Civic Services works with county and city offices around Oakland, and we need a Content Writer to lead our website copy. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about budget submissions. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. What we are looking for • Strong editing habits. • Curiosity about how things work. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. Nice to have • Experience with budget submissions. • Basic SEO knowledge. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
