Content Writer - plain-language guides (Providence, RI)

We are growing our team at Summit Mill Civic Services and adding a Content Writer whose main responsibility will be plain-language guides. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about public records. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. What we are looking for • Curiosity about how things work. • Strong editing habits. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. Nice to have • Basic SEO knowledge. • Experience with public records. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Providence. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
