Content Writer - plain-language guides (Portland, OR)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Timber Water Authority and adding a Content Writer whose main responsibility will be plain-language guides. You would join a small organisation of about 135 people based in Portland. What you will do • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about billing accounts. • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. What we are looking for • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. • Strong editing habits. • Curiosity about how things work. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • Basic SEO knowledge. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
