Content Writer - plain-language guides (Portland, OR)

Northwind Harbor Civic Services provides shared administrative services to local governments around Portland. We are hiring a Content Writer to take on plain-language guides. You would join a large organisation of about 897 people based in Portland. What you will do • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about permits. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. What we are looking for • Curiosity about how things work. • Strong editing habits. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. Nice to have • Experience with permits. • Basic SEO knowledge. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
