Content Writer - plain-language guides (Indianapolis, IN)

We are growing our team at Lumen Union Civic Services and adding a Content Writer whose main responsibility will be plain-language guides. You would join a large organisation of about 778 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about constituent requests. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. What we are looking for • Curiosity about how things work. • Strong editing habits. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. Nice to have • Basic SEO knowledge. • Experience with constituent requests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Indianapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
