Content Writer - plain-language guides (Birmingham, AL)

Highbridge Ashton Civic Services works with county and city offices around Birmingham, and we need a Content Writer to lead our plain-language guides. We follow procedures carefully and explain them clearly. What you will do • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about constituent requests. What we are looking for • Curiosity about how things work. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. • Strong editing habits. Nice to have • Basic SEO knowledge. • Experience with constituent requests. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
