Content Writer - plain-language guides (Anchorage, AK)

Ironwood Fern Civic Services works with county and city offices around Anchorage. We are hiring a Content Writer to take on plain-language guides. You would join a small organisation of about 15 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about budget submissions. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. What we are looking for • Strong editing habits. • Curiosity about how things work. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. Nice to have • Basic SEO knowledge. • Experience with budget submissions. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
