Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Wichita, KS)

Bright West Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Wichita. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 643 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
