Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Virginia Beach, VA)

Northwind Linden Inspection Services is an inspection company in Virginia Beach with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
