Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Virginia Beach, VA)

Harborlight Orchard Freight Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for proof of delivery, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proof of delivery, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with proof of delivery. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
