Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Tampa, FL)

Foxglove Bright Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Tampa and nearby communities, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Tampa, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
