Accountant - revenue reconciliation (St. Louis, MO)

Westbrook Basin Arts Center is a cultural organisation in St. Louis presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. We run on creativity, deadlines and a lot of goodwill. What you will do • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to exhibitions, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with exhibitions. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
