Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Spokane, WA)

Amberfield Corner Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Spokane. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
