Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Spokane, WA)

Harborlight Sparrow Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Spokane presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around visitor services against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to exhibitions, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
