Accountant - revenue reconciliation (San Jose, CA)

Foxglove Harbor Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around San Jose. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage response, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with outage response. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
