Accountant - revenue reconciliation (San Diego, CA)

Bluepeak Forge Energy delivers power and gas plans across the San Diego region, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
