Accountant - revenue reconciliation (San Diego, CA)

Westbrook Union Energy delivers power and gas plans across the San Diego region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 950 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
