Accountant - revenue reconciliation (San Diego, CA)

Nova Lakeside Civic Services provides shared administrative services to local governments around San Diego. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to constituent requests, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
