Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Salt Lake City, UT)

Fernwood Birch Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Salt Lake City. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 181 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
