Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Sacramento, CA)

Westbrook North Community Partners is a Sacramento charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 24 people based in Sacramento. What you will do • Track costs around food distribution against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Sacramento, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
