Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Rochester, NY)

Bright Pike Early Learning runs childcare centres in Rochester caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 82 people based in Rochester. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around tuition and subsidies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with classroom supplies. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Rochester. • We reply to every applicant.
