Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Richmond, VA)

Harborlight Union Foods Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for ingredient orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with ingredient orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
