Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Ironwood Beacon Community Partners Group is a New Orleans charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 776 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to benefits enrolment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around grant reporting against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with benefits enrolment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
