Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Harborlight Forge Energy Partners is an energy provider in Chicago focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 542 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
