Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Fernwood Orchard Facilities is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for safety inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety inspections, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with safety inspections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
