Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Amberfield Rowan Transit Planning · Remote · part time

Amberfield Rowan Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for accessibility audits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 163 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
