Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Northwind Orchard Freight Group coordinates shipments and warehousing around Richmond, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tracking, and clear open items. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
