Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Fernwood Meridian Inspection Services is an inspection company in Tampa with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to certifications, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with certifications. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Tampa. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
