Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Fernwood Bridge Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Wichita with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 516 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with collection routes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Wichita. • We reply to every applicant.
