Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Cedar Ivory Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Birmingham. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
