Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Northwind Harbor Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around Oakland, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with service complaints. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
