Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Silverline Rook Housing is a nonprofit housing provider in Detroit, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. We value patience and follow-through. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to lease compliance, and clear open items. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
