Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

We are growing our team at Redstone Umber Transit Planning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with service alerts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
