Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Fernwood Basin Banking Services is a regional lender in Baltimore with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to card disputes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with card disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
