Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Bluepeak Fox Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Miami and nearby communities. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter reading, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
