Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Clearpath Forge Freight is a Virginia Beach logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 23 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
