Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Bluepeak Hollow Energy Group is an energy provider in San Diego focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with hardship programmes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
