Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Northwind Harbor Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for landfill records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to landfill records, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with landfill records. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Pittsburgh. • We reply to every applicant.
