Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Highbridge Meadow Housing is a nonprofit housing provider in Charleston. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 40 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around rent assistance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to lease compliance, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Charleston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
