Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Providence, RI)

Rivermark Oak Civic Services supports public agencies in Providence with budgeting, records and programmes. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 141 people based in Providence. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to procurement, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around permits against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
