Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Providence, RI)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Fox Community Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 94 people based in Providence. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around volunteer shifts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food distribution, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with food distribution. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
