Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Providence, RI)

Bluepeak Rowan Civic Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for public records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to public records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with public records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Providence. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
