Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Portland, OR)

Westbrook Keystone Energy Group supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Portland, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
