Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Portland, OR)

Harborlight Maple Community Partners Group is a Portland charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around donor records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client intake. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
