Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Pittsburgh, PA)

Harborlight Mill Freight is a Pittsburgh logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
